well... i dont know what to say about my silence over the past five months. if youre reading this, than you are part of a handfull of people who get notified when i post something. im not sure why i stopped blogging in april.. i guess i was just busy at the time and i just got stuck in the same routine of NOT blogging.
a lot has happened in between april and now. the cherry blossoms opened, the weather got warmer, i went to Las Vegas and LA, got to see my good friends, went swimming a lot, drank a lot of booze, played in a basketball tournament... two infact, got my face smashed into a wall, said farewell to my closest friends on Tsushima, welcomed the new people, got a girlfriend (who lives in omura), traveled to Iki a couple more times, fukuoka a handfull of times, went home to see my mother twice, went to the first year conference party, jumped off a bridge a couple times... finished up my first school year here in japan... hmmm what else?.. its been busy and slow at times.
summer was great... in 2 months, i only worked 4 days. that was nice.. i started school back up 10 days ago and have been trying to get back into the swing of waking up in the morning, playing sports, and not drinking so much. Summer really took a toll on my health. prior to the beginning of summer i was probably in the best shape of my life, but post-summer, i fell back into being a lazy slob. im trying to break out of that slump at the moment.
This evening i will be hopping onto a boat and going out to fukuoka to see my girlfriend. her name is kristin. shes a cute girl from sacramento but has been living in Irvine for the past 4 years for college. she is a very motivated person with big goals in life i need that kind of person in my life at the moment to help me with finding my own goals. at the moment im perfectly content with staying on this programme and collecting all the yen i can make. as you know, compared to the yen, the dollar is pretty much worthless... and the US economy is terrible.. it would be an un-wise economic decision to head back to the USofA in this type of crisis.
anyway this weekend i think kristin and I will be watching a baseball game at the Yahoo Dome to see the local softbank hawks go at it against another team thats probably going to beat them. hahaha.. theyre not too good this year, but its always good to get out and see a professional baseball match. unlike america, japanese baseball has its particular cheers for certain situations.. and a band playing in the outfield.. and cheering sections for the opposing team... its really weird, but its cool to see the differences between american and japanse professional baseball. some things are exactly the same, however, for example... heavy beer drinking.. japan has america beat on this one... a young person carrying a mini-keg on their back walks around serving fresh draft beer.. its awesome.. you dont even have to stand up to get another round... instead of peanuts, japanese vendors sell all kinds of shit... even bentos. i kinda miss the peanuts, but with the option of getting ramen, or udon, or just about anything else, the peanut and cracker-jack wish fades away.
I hope to bounce back to this blog a little bit more often starting now.. i hope you guys are all doing well. ... i still follow the blogs of (probably) you guys... chad, john, chaz... i know whats going on with you guys.. congratulations again chad on getting the application process finished up... and john... youre still a dummy. i dont know why you won prom king. you should have won prom dickhead.
much love amigos.
