yeah just a quick check in to those of you kinda following my blog. im out of the czeck republic today, off to vienna. woke up yesterday feeling like a moron because i couldnt remember how i got home from a soft night of drinking with a fellow american friend that i made in my hostel. its weird how not patriotic i am until the fourth of july. this guy nate that i befriended, and i might have mentioned him in the previous post is from all over the US, but mostly the eastern side.
anyway we had a meaningful conversation about the good that american has done and the things that we can be proud of as americans. most of them involved sports that are played world wide that people love and participate in, but some of it was history and whatnot.. anyway needless to say we had a few beers, and figured it might be a good idea to try real absenth because the czeck republic has the real stuff. america has it now but its not the same shit.
anyway we had two shots each.. felt like taking a shot of 151, and i know john knows what that ones like. hahaha.. yeah so i thought i was fine.. i felt fine, even when i woke up i was fine... woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed... but there were gigantic holes in my memory, and after asking where those memories went, he couldnt remember either. im not sure what i did after the absenth hit me. all i know is that i probably ate a hamburger from a roadside sausage stand... but im only inferring that because i had a burger wraper in my pocket. maybe i picked it up. im not sure. i had enough sense to change into sleeping clothes and go to bed. dont think i brushed my teeth, but i DID put my pants on backwards. theyre basketball shorts to my defense, but i didnt notice until hours after i woke up.
i decided to lay low the next day so i went to this gigantic bookstore and found the english section.. turns out this bookstore is the biggest bookstore in central and eastern europe.. massive i tell you. yeah so i bought the biography of anthony keidis, the lead singer of the chili peppers, one of my favorite bands. got thru 300 pages before i realized that i just read throughout the entire day. went to a cafe and chilled out while drinking coffee and reading, went to a sitdown dinner that costs almost nothing out here, kept reading, then came home and read some more. it was very unproductive, but i think my body needed it. im rested now and ready for this semi long trek to austria.
wish me luck amigos. i gotta hit the road.
love
shane

hahaha, you're fuckin' funny dude. pants on backwards, haha. at first i imagined them being jeans, but you ruined my mental joke when you said they were shorts. Oh well, you're still handicapped.
ReplyDeleteyeah, america rocks.
This is funny! I had no idea you were into Kris Kross! Good to hear that you had a rest day. But be careful your lucky you had a burger wrapper in your pocket and not a Czech sausage in your butt. Only kidding a little. Have fun in Austria, tell them to throw another shrimp on the barbie! Just kidding a little again. Peas out cause I hate them.
ReplyDeletePeas on the last comment. I hate peas not Autrians. Have a nice day!
